The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen gave a resident its blessing to discuss solutions for the Confederate marker in Town Square with the United Daughters of Confederacy. "Our next step, we feel, is to meet with some of the people at the bottom of the sign," Jordan said to the board. "To meet with those people and come to the table and all of us sit down and talk." Mayor Stan Joyner said no one on the board opposed the idea. Some residents and activists have called for the marker to be moved into a museum. Jordan and three other residents have met with Town Administrator James Lewellen once a month for the past eight months to talk about "solutions" for the marker.
