WHECTV Created: April 30, 2021 07:38 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The first of the Rochester Lilac Festival's three weekends kicks off next Friday, May 7 at Highland Park. Superintendent of Horticulture for Monroe County Parks Mark Quinn told News10NBC the weather has been strange this spring, so it's been hard to figure out exactly when the lilacs will be in full bloom, but he says they're already looking pretty good. "So right now I'm looking that lilacs, the full bloom, the peak bloom will be sometime during the festival.=," Quinn said. "I told somebody the other day probably about the 9th, but if it stays this cold it might be just a hair beyond that even."
