Winchester library set to grow Rochelle Eiselt, rochelle.eiselt@myjournalcourier.com FacebookTwitterEmail WINCHESTER — A plan to expand Winchester Public Library is progressing. “The design of the building is about 60% complete,” Greg Hillis of Benton and Associates told city council this week. Benton and Associates is a consulting firm that provides civil engineering and land surveying services. Final drawings are expected to be submitted to the Historic Preservation Board by the end of March, he said. The board has to approve of the plans for the renovation before work can move forward, he said. The renovation effort has come a long way since 2021, when the library first applied for a grant for expansion, library director Darlene Smith said.
