Woman wanted in connection with Waterbury hit-and-run surrenders to police

WATERBURY – Police say a 35-year-old woman wanted in connection with a serious hit-and-run crash surrendered to police early Thursday morning, ending a search that began last weekend when police say she ran down a woman with her Jeep.

Police said they booked Stacy Edwards, of Waterbury, on an attempted manslaughter charge after she surrendered at about 5:30 a.m. in connection with a crash that left a 31-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries. That collision occurred near Frost Road and Homestead Avenue at about 2:22 a.m. on Saturday, according to police.
