I just feel like this is a safe area and i just never imagined someone is going to do that here. From the walt whitman bridge down to the Atlantic City expressway its taking you about 20 minutes right now but again, very slow going. Its a great weekend and everybody wants to get where theyre going. Taking a look at the area bridges, starting with the walt whitman bridge rather with the ben franklin bridge you can see these are eastbound lanes heading over to new jersey. Westbound lanes, were down two lanes here so very slow and again the walt whitman bridge just as slow in both directions. Back to you, monica and brian. Health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman tried it out. How was it. I liked it. Something different than what im used to. Its called alonge. Its a mixture of barr ballet and pilates. Unlike similar classes you get more cardio in this one. Lift up nice and tall. From bands to bar with several cardio bursts mixed in. Go. The alonge technique combines it all. It was created by a former ballet dancer jillian drusic. Were targeting the small muscle groups but in big ways so the heart rate is pumping fat is burning all good stuff is happening. She says you can expect at least 20 minutes of high energy low impact impact cardio. Regulars say that part is tough but fun. At gym i get bored on a treadmill. I like it. I dont feel like im doing cardio. Its challenging. I like theres a little ballet mixed into it. The other moves aimed to strengthen and lengthen your body. I tried the core cardio class. But the studio offers different classes aimed at different muscle groups. Such as waste away targeting the love handles and upper body logic to work on the arms and back. No matter what youre looking to tone or what you like doing, you can get a different workout even if you come five days a week. Lift up nice and tall. Meteorologist adam joseph has got details from accuweather. A reminder when you see breaking news or Severe Weather we want to hi from you. Hi here from you. Email your pictures and videos to 6abc. Com or use the hashtag 6abc action news. Well be right back. Time for accuweather at the action news big board meteorologist adam joseph. We have been a little cooler than normal in july. Were about to reverse that. Anything but normal around here the last two days feeling a little more septemberlike with the air temperatures in the 70s to near 80 and now were going well above that over the weekend. As were looking live on sky6 still a few folks in cape may right now on the shore with their feet in the sand. Its 5 oclock. I think the happy hour bell rang and a lot of them have run out to grab a little drink and something to eat and also a reminder to we had dangerous rip currents today, a moderate risk so if you are at home right now, at the shore and youre thinking about going onto the sand and getting into the water probably not the best idea with the lifeguards now heading off duty. 81 on the boardwalk as well as sea isle city, 80 in millville, 82 in philadelphia. Reading, lancaster and wilmington all temperatures there in the upper 70s. 90degree day so far this year, kind of a split. Were right in the middle here. Boston zero so far this year. New york city only one day has hit 90 degrees. 10 days in philadelphia. Thats a little bit below the average but well make up for it over the next few days but as you head to the south, it has been blistering this Summer Season so far from that washington richmond to raleigh where theyve seen between about 22 to 26 days of 90 degrees or above. We are tracking a warm front. That warm front right now is draped just east of pittsburgh and west of washington. Thats throwing clouds our way first and eventually the heat, the humidity behind that front and a chance for a few downpours and thunderstorms. In fact, at 6 oclock tomorrow morning as the front migrating through, any one is fair game for a quick shower downpour or a rumble of thunder. The warm front lifts to the north tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock. There will be hazy sunshine. Clouds will fight the sky with the sunshine and there will still be those popups in the afternoon but it wont be widespread around here for the beginning of the weekend and at the same time that well see some of those popups develop, its going the feel like 99 in philadelphia tomorrow afternoon the same for wilmington, upper 90s in the lehigh valley. A little bit of a break at the shore. You can see wildwood at 80 degrees and that number of 93 in Atlantic City is in pomona at the airport which is 10 miles inland so you dont have to go far inland from the coast to see those numbers really spike up here tomorrow. Here is that weekend kickoff for saturday. 90, a scattered afternoon thunderstorm at times in the city. At the shore clouds mixing with sun at 80 degrees. And in the poconos humid with an isolated storm temperatures there in the upper 70s. Your five day at 5 forecast, 90 tomorrow, very humid with a scattered storm in the morning and again in the afternoon. And then dangerous heat sets in on sunday, 95 feeling like 100 to 105 and we take out the chance really of many thunderstorms here on sunday and then they come back. Its steamy, stormy monday, 92 degrees and that front will slip through here late monday and that will drop the humidity a little bit on tuesday but it stays hot at 90 degrees and another 90degree day on wednesday with an afternoon thunderstorm so this will be another heat wave as we move forward with many 90s. Will it continue in that seven day . Well let you know guys in the next half hour. All right adam thanks very much. Much more to come in the next half hour of action news at 5 00 tonight. It wasnt pennies from heaven b
