Im excited. I had a blast watching him in spring training when he pitched for the yankees. Any time you see a young kid like that with a lot of potential come up its fun. Its going to be exciting. You know, kid was taken seventh overall for a reason. Hes got good stuff. Heating it up over the week especially sunday when heat advisories go into effect for some of us. As we take a look at double scan radar all is quiet but a few showers developing and downpours well after the midnight hour as a warm front pulls through and brings the heat and humidity along with it. So, as we look at the highlights, weve had really limited heat so far this particular summer but that does change especially on sunday as were taking a look at 90degree days so far this year. In boston, they havent had one day this year that theyve hit 90 degrees. New york city just one day. Here in philadelphia, 10 days so far this year which is a little bit below the normal but were going to catch back up when you take a look at that sevenday forecast. And just to the south, that is where theyve had most of the heat and humidity with anywhere between 22 to 26 days of 90 degrees or better. In fact, take a look at sunday here. Heat advisories will go into effect at noon on sunday for the highly urbanized areas around wilmington, philadelphia trenton. You go about 20 miles to the northwest and southeast along that i95 corridor and that is where it could feel between 100 and 105 degrees and the highest heat index weve seen so far this year in philadelphia has been 101 degrees. So really our bodies are not acclimated to this kind of heat and humidity so definitely want to take it slow over the upcoming weekend. 78 allentown, 77 reading, 78 in wilmington. Not bad right now with that wind kicking in off of the atlantic. Even the poconos just 72 degrees. Its all going to change though, in a matter of hours because we have a warm front just to the east of pittsburgh, just to the west of washington. Not much activity with it right now. Its throwing clouds our way first but eventually as the atmosphere starts to saturate with that humidity, it will fuel up and then give us a couple of showers and downpours by tomorrow morning. So tonight cloudy, muggy late showers, 68 in allentown as well as trenton. 72 in cape may. Dover at 70 degrees. And future tracker will show early tomorrow morning not everyone is going the see some of this rain. It will be scattered through the region as that warm front continues to drift through and then its hazy, hot and humid into the afternoon. Clouds are going to fight the sun throughout the day and in the afternoon there will be those typical popup storms in the summer season. Not everyone is going the see them but its a possibility. In fact tomorrow is your High Temperature of 9
