Now we would love a wonderful ride home but its looking less than wonderful nydia and brian here on the vine street expressway in center city. There was a crash that happened just about 15 or 20 minutes ago here on the seaboard side approaching eighth street. Theres the bieber bus. Behind that you can see a woman standing off to the side appears to be involved in the accident. Right lane partially blocked here as you come away from the schuylkill and head toward 95. Penndot police are on the scene and its really a stand still coming away from the schuylkill expressway with delays spilling back onto the schuylkill itself. Speaking of that schuylkill expressway, i was talking all morning long about how today they were going to close the ramp from Spring Garden street there by the art museum to the westbound lanes. If you remember last fall, they did this for several months. Well, they did close the ramp today. Its going to be closed for about a week or so. So not as long this time but still kind of an inconvenience if thats your normal ramp. Again, Spring Garden street to the westbound lanes of the schuylkill. Watching a crash in yeadon this afternoon along bailey road at wycombe avenue. Also one to avoid in abington along 611 near woodland and in jenkintown a wreck along Greenwood Avenue at 611 old york road and theyre busy in camden tearing down the old Commerce Building this week so all week long as a result Federal Street and broadway are both blocked off to all traffic. Its being called one of the most powerful magazine covers. New York Magazine here with 35 women on front who have accused actor and Comedian Bill Cosby of rape. All of them seated in rows in small wooden chairs. But its what we dont see thats perhaps even more powerful. At the end bottom right there, a final seat, an empty one serving as a place holder for the other 11 unnamed women who are unwilling or unable to come forward. Well within minutes the the empty chair went viral on twitter with nearly 9,000 mentions in less than 24 hours. One of the women on the cover Beverly Johnson tweeted that she was proud to be part of a masterpiece that will go down in history. For others around the world its also serving as an open forum, a voice for victims of sexual abuse like this woman who writes i suffered mental anguish for years because no one believed me when i spoke up and ella who says i am not damaged goods. I am damaged but i am still good and encouraging other women to know the same. Others are joining in solidarity like matt who tweeted here that one in five women sit in the the empty chair and yet we have a culture that victim blames. Now, statistics show that that Sexual Assault is one of the most unreported crimes underreported i should say. As for bill cosby he has never been criminally charged and has denied any wrongdoing but certainly that powerful cover of that magazine has a lot of people talking and helping a lot of victims nydia. Powerful indeed. Thank you alicia. President obama continued his africa trip today but ended up talking about a political controversy here at home. The president is in ethiopia which makes him the first sitting president to visit that country. But while there today he responded to Mike Huckabees attack on the iran nuclear deal. Huckabee is a republican president ial hopeful and he compared the nuclear deal to the holocaust saying it is marching israelis to the door of the oven. The comment has drawn widespread backlash including backlash from the president today. The particular comments of mr. Huckabee are i think part of just a general pattern that weve seen that is would be considered ridiculous if it werent so sad. How in the world huckabee who during his a solution to that. I dont know if its going with iran says hes not backing down from his comments. Fiatchrysler will pay a record fine for mishandling almost two dozen recalls and they are big ones. Closing numbers on wall street red arrows acrosstheboard the dow down 128 points. Nasdaq off 49. The s p down just about 12 on the nose. Believe it or not back to School Shopping season is almost upon us and parents are expected to spend less this year than last year. Thats according to the National Retail federation which released its annual back to School Spending survey. It found that families with students in grades k through 12 plan to spend 630 that is down from 669 a year ago. Back to School Shopping is expected to generate about 68 billion in revenue. The Wildwood Beach patrol hosted its annual beach day with 21 down, a down syndrome awareness group. Group members and and their families coasted on the waivers with the help of seasoned members. Organizers say the event is a great way to learn about safety in and around the water. Looks like a lot fun. Yeah. In fact this week given the rising temperatures going to be pretty perfect if you chose this as week to spend down the shore. Mets go to adam joseph. Getting hot tomorrow. Starts tomorrow and lasts through the up coming week and weekend. This week and next week most popular week to vacation down the shore or delaware beaches looking pretty good for this week. Double scan live radar shows most of the area is muggy warm and quiet but we have a couple of downpours that have popped near moorestown along 38 and also 130 south of riverside over the river from philadelphia into new jersey. And also parts of the roosevelt boulevard getting a little bit wet just to the west of northeast philly airport. Just to the south of jenkintown a couple of these showers are developing, no lightning strikes with this, just a brief little bit of heavy rain in that particular location. The rest of us though, its 82 in allentown, 85 in reading, 80 in wilmington. So the numbers have pulled back from over the weekend partly because youve got that wind coming in off of the water. Its only in the upper 70s at the shore right now but also we had a lot of cloud cover today after that rain we saw earlier on this morning. But those dewpoints, the measure of how it feels when you step out is starting to turn uncomfortable. Its humid between 65 and 70 degrees and you can see thats where most of us are sitting with the state of delaware and lancaster, are you in the 70s so thats where it feels a little more oppressive while Northern Areas in the Lehigh Valley it is not as humid. As we look at satellite and radar you can see some clouds left over the region but a front has pushed to the south at least the energy with a weak front has moved towards washington and parts of the virginias from West Virginia into virginia itself and thats where some of those downpours or thunderstorms are popping at the present time. But as we head
