The Fire Department says seven people were hurt in this crash in queens and you can see the major damage to the building coming up. The victims went to several different hospitals in the area. Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane is in court right now. This time, though, sitting at the defense table. Todays hearing in norristown deals with charges that kane leaked confidential information as part of a political vendetta. Chad pradelli is following this story for us live outside of the courthouse. Chad. Reporter shar wreaks this preliminary hearing is running more than three hours long and still ongoing. Attorney general Kathleen Kane is charged with perjury, obstruction of justice and other related charges and later today here in the next hour or two, the judge is expected to decide whether the case will be held for trial. Led by her twin sister attorney general Kathleen Kane quickly mid her way into the Montgomery County courthouse wearing a red dress she said nothing as she faced perjury and other offenses. Montgomery county assistant attorney general kevin steels first witness was special agent david piper of the attorney generals office. He testified he presented to attorney general kane grand jury documents at her request prior to a news report detailing those documents. Kane is accused of illegally leaking the grand jury files and lying during a subsequent investigation of her. Testimony also revealed that kane authorized the release of the files in the name of transparency. Prosecutors allege kane released the files and was motivated by her dislike of frank fina a former prosecutor in the attorney generals office. Then at odds over a corruption investigation into philadelphia democrats. Kane squashed the investigation and hindered at racism on finas part. After leaving the ags office and going to the Philadelphia District attorneys office, fina and d. A. Seth williams reopened the case. Prosecutors allege kane then released secret grand jury files to smear fina regarding an investigation aimed at then philadelphia naacp head j wyatt mondesire. Mondesire has never been charged and hes denied wrongdoing. Kathleen kane showed little emotion inside the courtroom. A truck driver had to be cut out of the wreckage of a crash today in bucks county. Chopper six was over the scene on route 113 and callowhill road in hilltown township. Thats where the crash happened just afternoon today. Were working to find out exactly what happened here but we know it involved a dump truck and another vehicle. You can see the dump truck ended up on its side. Were still trying to find out the name of the truck driver and just how badly he was hurt. Brand new at 4 00 Police Say Three murderers are off the streets of philadelphia. Responsible, though, for four separate homicides this year. Authorities say tyree garasol shot a plan in the back of the head in may then shot another man in the head earlier this month. They say they caught him last thursday and charged him with two counts of murder. 27yearold tyrese peel is also charged with murder today. Police say he killed a plan on south 53rd street back on august 15th. Officers caught up with peel on yesterday. And eckel jones is accused of killing one man and shooting another on east sharp neck street. That happened back on july 27th. Police were able to take him down on friday. From our new jersey news room, police say an attempted robbery ended with three people shot on the street in trenton today. Happened just before 3 30 this morning here at the intersection of washington street and roebling avenue. Police say two men with guns walked up to a group of four people and tried to rob them. The suspects started shooting into the group. Happy to people were shot and are in the hospital. The fourth was not hurt. Last week traces of the legionella bacteria were discovered in the hot Water Systems of nine buildings. That bacteria can lead to navy fairs disease a team of newspaper monica. Students tell action news they were aware of the problems but were confident the university handled it. I got emails about it. They said they handled it all. I wasnt nervous about it. Everybody seems to be either putting it aside and everything and just heading to class. Overt weekend the university shut off hot water in those affected buildings to sanitize the systems and kill the bacterial the water has since been turned back on. Well, leaders of north and south korea have reached an agreement that could prevent the war and it came after a marathon of negotiations. Today was the third day of talks between the two countries. South koreas president says the north apologized for a land mine attack that injured two soldiers. In exchange the south will stop blasting propaganda over a loudspeaker across the demilitarized zone. Both countries have been looking for a way to avoid war but also safe face. Firefighters from australia and new zealand have arrived in the Pacific Northwest to help fight wildfires there.
