Gunshot wound to the head. Reporter over months after the murder of 64yearold Michael Mcnew bucks County District attorney announced an arrest in this case. Investigators charged 33yearold Jennifer Lynn morrissey with criminal homicide burglary and other charges. Not always mediate when you can catch a killer and in this instance it took a lot of cooperation, collaboration and just good Old Fashioned detective work. Reporter mcnew was found shot to death inside of his home along the Delaware River in Washington Crossing august 8th. The District Attorney confirms mcnew and morrissey lived together since the beginning of january of 2015. According to court documents, he wanted her out of the house and that likely fueled her anger and led to the shooting. News of the murder rattled this close knit community. Many describe mcnew as a nice man that never bothered anyone. I was stunned shocked to say the least. I know mike, you know, from being a neighbor and everything. Reporter police say after morrissey shot and killed mcnew she returned to the home and tampered with the crime scene to make it appear as if there was a robbery but investigators say all the evidence points to morrissey and shows that she was in mcnews home the night of the murder. The District Attorney says testimony from several informants and threatening Text Messages sent to mcnew from morrissey was enough to arrest her and charge her with murder. In other news a south jersey father will spend 10 years behind bars after he pled guilty to killing his threeyearold son. David creato jr. Was formally sentenced today after pleading guilty last month to one count of aggravated manslaughter reached before his retrial was supposed to start. The body of creatos son brendan was found in a park back in 2015 several blocks from his fathers Haddon Township home. Creatos first murder trial earlier this year ended with a hung jury. Philadelphia police are trying the figure out who shot a man six times in the head this morning in west oak lane. Officials were called to the scene near 75th avenue and tulpehocken streets around 11 30 this morning. Thats where the 38yearold man was found shot multiple times. He later died at the hospital. This measure to rename the station for him was passed by congress the following year but amtrak has not yet taken action on it. The late congressman secured millions of dollars in the 80s and 90s to renovate 30th street station and he was known for much more.
