Now they are describing their relief as they felt as they saw the u. S. S. Ashland on the horizon. Oh, god, weve been saved. It was the most amazing feeling because we honestly did not believe that we would survive another 24 hours in the current situation. They made it. The navy vessel picked up the two women and their two dogs. They say they survived all of that time by using the water purifiers on their boat and eat, the food that they had on board. Jack whelan acknowledged the programs success and recognized the officers for their heroics. Last night two major hollywood stars with local roots were honored here in center city. M. Night shyamalan presented the lumiere award to bruce willis as part of the philadelphia Film Festival. The award represents dedication to films here in philadelphia, something these two men certainly know something about. Shyamalan directed willis in several films including the sixth sense unbreakable and theyre working on glass which is filming all around the area. Perhaps youve seen the crew set up around the town. Shyamalan grew up in lower merion and willis grew up in carneys point, new jersey. I grew up in that south jersey. I used to sneak around here all the time. One cause i want to work with my favorite director in the whole world. Obviously its very emotional for me to make films at home. Ive always been able to make films at home and this man is the reason im able to do that. He backs me when nobody backed me and hes a jersey boy an philly boy. They are sowbread of their Delaware Valley roots. M night tells us the story of when they first met for sixth sense. Home grown, pretty cool. Cool stuff. Alicia thank you. It is time once again for a check on the accuweather forecast as we cruise into the weekend. Yeah. Its going to be smooth sailing to start but then kind of rocky as we get into sunday especially and monday morning. As we take a look at the Weather Center here, live on sky6, all things look great right now on this friday. That deep blue sky, that Delaware River right now really lack of clouds here this afternoon and much milder than it was just this time yesterday and we relaxed the winds as well. As we take a look at that weekend forecast saturday warm with sun and clouds, 70 degrees. Definitely hands down the pick of the weekend because by sunday, rain comes in in the morning, turns heavy and steady especially in the afternoon and evening with the High Temperature of just 66 degrees. So, thats the highlight for the weekend but we also have Something Else to chat about and that is your halloween forecast and im bringing in a little friend here. The current numbers 55 in mount pocono, 64 allentown reading, lancaster as well as wilmington, 67 in dover. 64 degrees in millville and pretty similar at the shore so really nice afternoon, very average for this time of year. High pressure is in control right now and you can see all of that sunshine, clear sky on the east coast. That remains the case tomorrow. Clouds will be increasing with this front and that front will link with that moisture down to the south. In fact as we look at future tracker sunday morning at 11 30 a. M. , thats when some of the light showers start to come in. You see some heavier pockets west and south of lancaster. That arrives in philadelphia by about 3 oclock in the afternoon, two hours into the eagles game, pretty nasty down there at the linc. 8 30 in the evening, still rain, heavy at times and that starts to lift out on monday morning but some lingering rain early on monday at 8 00 a. M. And thats also when the strongest winds will be rotating in as the storm develops. 2 00 a. M. On monday, winds near 45 miles an hour.
