Reporter i have a little bit of new information it happened at 10 40 this morning, it happened on route 33 near route 191 in plainfield northampton county. Im waiting for confirmation but sources tell me that a suspect has been arrested. I want to be clear about this, im waiting for confirmation from state police but sources tell me that a suspect was arrested. Once we get that confirmed we will pass along the information. We are told that the trooper shot is from troop m in belfast. Neither his name or condition is released at this time. And no information on how the shooting unfolded. And a blue colored vehicle with a shattered rear window is marked up with police tape and a Significant Police presence at the hospital at this hour. We are waiting to get the identity and condition of the trooper involved and waiting for confirmation but several sources tell me that a suspect is arrested. As fire began tearing through two row homes overnight and the Police Officer turned out to be an angel on the spot. The officer by luck happened to be controlling the block when four people caught in the line of fire needed help and four people rushed to the inferno and rushed them to safety. All of them are alive, and making this more dramatic, the officer is days removed from Maternity Leave. Reporter good afternoon rick, i spoke with the owner of the lighthouse there on the corner, she and her husband have insuranceness a place to go for now and their young child was able to scramble to safety with them but six neighbors right next door apartment dwellings mostly were taken to the hospital to be treated and not many remain there now but nobody is believed to be in a lifethreatening situation. Many remain and one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation after fighting this fire this morning. The fire was horrifying say residents of the gulf twin houses of manheim as well as neighbors looking on at 3 00 this morning. I look out the window and see the house on fire and the fire choked it and they did get here. The fire went to two alarms and officer leslie white back four days from Maternity Leave was just four blocks away got the call. I got a call for a fire and drove down the street i didnt expect it to be a huge fire. But when i pulled up the house was completely engulfed. I have never seen a fire that intense before. Officer white found victims on the sidewalk many with minor injuries. And she soon realized not everybody was able to escape. I heard people screening and saw people towards the back of the house and ran towards the back and there was a grandfather he couldnt really walk so he basically carried him from the back of the house to the front and the neighbor came and picked him up. Daylight revealed two scorched structures. It could have been me. We live across the street it could have been up without a house, thanksgiving is around the corner. Praying for them they have other family members to help them. To ruling yet on the exact cause of this fire this morning. It was a scorcher again. And there was an exchange of gun fire and the suspect i am told, fled the scene in that blue pontiac taken down to easton hospital we are showing from sky 6 hd, the suspect is taken into Police Custody and treated for gunshot wounds, the corporal was flown from the scene with a medical helicopter to Saint Lukes Hospital and treated for multiple gunshot wounds. This is new information we just got this moments ago at the officer involved a corporal with the Pennsylvania State police and there was an exchange of gun fire and the suspect was hit and drove himself to easton hospital and once inside he was arrested.
