But the temperatures dont stay particularly cool today. As we go up to about 11 oclock, were already pushing into 53. 57 by 1 00 and im expecting a high of 59 right around there, say, around 2 30 or 3 oclock before we slide but even this evening not bad, the mid50s so get through this morning and the afternoon will feel a lot better. Were looking live at the ramp from the boulevard southbound to the schuylkill westbound. Theres something youre not seeing here. Traffic move. Because penndot has blocked the ramp right now from the boulevard southbound to the schuylkill westbound. Its been blocked now for a half an hour. These guys have been stuck as we watch live, were starting to see a little movement. Can you imagine waiting there for 30 minutes saying please move. Okay, finally theyre going to allow them to get through. This has been creating a mess. I want to show you a different shot of this. This is the boulevard extension. You see all these headlights . Look how theyre not moving as you head towards the schuylkill. Theyre just about to start to go. The movement youre seeing as you head elsewhere but on the boulevard southbound towards the schuylkill youre jammed solid because of that construction that they just kind of blocked that ramp even though the construction on the schuylkill westbound at city avenue was clear. So, thats starting to get better. In germantown an accident in germantown at walnut avenue. Watch for this one. Arent and the big accident weve been talking about and Katherine Scott live on the scene in Washington Township a fatal accident involving a pedestrian still blocks the black horse pike northbound at ganttown road. If youre in this area in Washington Township, about to head northbound to come onto the 42 freeway and come into the city, you have to stick to egg harbor road instead, tam. Thank you, karen. Breaking news from the black horse pike that karen mentioned, a woman walking alongside a man is suddenly hit and killed by a car. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live near that scene in Washington Township with the latest on what we know. Good morning, katherine. Reporter good morning, tam. Were still waiting to hear more details from police, but i did speak with a friend of the victim. He says he was walking nearby her at the time. He said that she was a woman in her 60s, a good friend of his and that she was originally from barrington, new jersey. Im not releasing her name because i dont know if her family has been notified yet, but you can see right now that the northbound lanes are closed at 42. Southbound lanes are getting by here in Washington Township right by ganttown road. This happened around 2 30 this morning. The friend told me that he and the victim had just left the nearby golden luck motel. Thats where they say. And they were walking to a dennys down the street. He told me they were crossing 42 at the intersection with ganttown road. He says the light was red, that she was walking behind him and that she was struck and thrown by a truck. She was pronounced dead on the scene and he did say that the truck stopped. We was crossing right here. I got to the other side i turned around. She said im coming. I turned around again and shes gone. It breaks my heart that shes gone right now. Shes 60. She was healthy. She didnt do nothing to nobody. Reporter and back here live on 42 right by ganttown road where you can see that the police are continuing their investigation here. So far they havent commented on the details about what happened. There are a number of businesses in this area. Its unclear if police found any footage that can help in this investigation but at this hour, again, the northbound lanes are closed for this investigation. The southbound lanes in this area of 42 are getting by. Were live in Washington Township Katherine Scott, channel6 action news. Tam. Katherine, thank you for that. And new this morning, Police Say Video told a disturbing tale showing a day care owner physically abusing the little ones in her care. Angela flewelling runs the family day care in middletown. Detectives showed up at the center and demanded to see Surveillance Video. Then took flewelling into custody yesterday. Parents who send their children to that center have been notified about her arrest. Man turns up dead at a Montgomery County Shopping Plaza and police are still trying to piece together how he ended up there and what caused him to die. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live at the scene of this discovery along the 400 block of ridge avenue in plymouth township. Jeanette. Reporter well, matt, its a bit of a mystery this morning. We know crime scene investigators are scene investigators were here late into the night collecting evidence, sifting through the area here trying to find any clues. At this point, they are looking at this as a possible homicide. Take a look at the images from overhead via chopper6 hd. This is above the Shopping Plaza where i am right now in the 400 block of ridge pike in plymouth township. The discovery of the body was made just before 6 00 in the evening monday evening. The seen is fairly large. It took up about two parking lots and it appeared a blood trail was part of the reason for that. Police seem to focus their efforts on several cars here. One of them, a dark colored car was carefully inspected for any evidence and that eventually was towed away. No word this morning on whether anything of significance was recovered from that car. Also, no word on the cause of death, although we do believe this man was stabbed. We are still waiting on some additional information, especially, of course, as to how he ended up here want led to his death. As soon as we get that information well make sure to pass it along. This is Surveillance Video here from just outside the burning Senior Living center that went up in flames thursday night. You can see First Responders carrying out elderly residents from barclay friends Senior Living community in west chester. More than two dozen people out of the 137 residents were hurt. A 92yearold man, his 89yearold wife and 85yearold woman and a 93yearold woman all remain unaccounted for. The firefighters told me that they kept going back in there until their helmets were melting and cracked. Police officers were running in there without any breathing apparatus. Federal investigators believe the fire started in the rear of the Main Building but theyre not sure how. 6abc is delighted to be part of a new holiday tradition in philadelphia, the 6abc Independence Blue Cross deck the hall light show debuted at city hall. Mayor jim kenney along with 6abc president and general manager Bernie Prazenica were there for the unveiling. The light show will run every hour on the half hour and you can watch this free show nightly through january 1st. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. But at any rate, they opened it up and now traffics getting by but its still really jammed. We also have some construction here thats causing issues with two lanes being blocked on 495 northbound between 12th ree so thats been creating some issues in both directions really but the heavier traffic is usually northbound heading towardsania. And also Katherine Scott has accident scene on the blackal horse pike northbound traffic still blocked at ganttown road. Southbound is opened so if youre going northbound on the black horse pike and youre trying to head towards 42 and then head up and into the city, thats when youre jammed and you will have to stick to egg harbor road to get around that. On the waze app weve been talking about this accident on stenton avenue at wyndmoor right near cresham valley road so watch for an acid that area causing some problems in wyndmoor. 30 degrees in pottstown.
