Afternoon in particular. You should have a period of the day thats fairly bright. The most important thing is how it feels outside. 25 degrees in trenton, ninety seven philadelphia and wilmington, 22 in allentown, 21 in reading, 28 in millville. With winds running in the teens, well, this is really the important number here. What it feels like. The wind chills right now 16 in philadelphia, 17 in wilmington, just 10 is how it feels as you step outside in allentown. 13 in reading, 13 in trenton and 19 in millville. Everybody needs to bundle up and wear that extra gear. We probably brighten up as we head through the afternoon but this model with a high of only about 32, 33 degrees, im going to be optimistic and go 34 but either way youre going to get wind chills with that breezy continuing through the day making it feel like its in the teens most of the time and maybe the low 20s for a tad this afternoon. Even colder air on the way in the sevenday, matt. Low temperatures and low volume im expecting. We actually like that, david, on the roads today. Im thinking volume is going to be lighter than normal because of people having the day off. So, thats good news. But early this morning we are watching a disabled vehicle here on the schuylkill expressway westbound side approaching belmont avenue. Its off to the side, so no big deal here. Both lanes are opened and penndot was out here for a minute but they left the scene so youre good to go as you travel westbound toward belmont. Meanwhile, excuse me, on the big picture, we were watching a fire location in north philadelphia at eighth street between dauphin and susquehanna. The fire crews have left there so everythings reopened in that neck of the woods. No delays to report on 95 which is good news. But there is a crash and vehicle fire in cheltenham along ryers avenue at old soldiers a Central Avenue that get you around that blockage. In East Norriton a water main break this morning. Icy conditions resulting along Germantown Pike at hillcrest avenue by the friendlys. Stay up on township line to get around that on this tuesday morning, tam. Okay, thank you, matt. Well, it was not a game for the ages but a win is a win is a win and that is what the eagles got against the oakland raiders. They have locked up Home Field Advantage throughout the playoffs. The eagles are also the top seed in the nfc. The offense struggled. It was the defense that came through in the end. In the Fourth Quarter cornerback ronald darby helped set the win in motion. He intercepted with 46 seconds left which set jake elliott up for the game winning field goal with 22 seconds left. Then in the final points they came from defensive end Derek Barnett who scored on a 23yard fumble. Action News Reporter bob brooks is live in south philadelphia with more on the game. Good morning, bob. Reporter hey, good morning, tam. Like you said, a win is a win is a win. It was a win. Next week they face dallas, another team that theyre hugely favored against but what fans have seen over the last two weeks, some struggles on defense and some struggles on the offense, theyre thrilled about the win but theyre kind of not so happy about, again, what theyve seen. Lets take a look and listen. Santa wants to give the eagles a super bowl for christmas. Yeah its a christmas miracle. Eagles, eagles reporter there was a lot of celebrating and a lot of reasons for that on this late Fourth Quarter field goal by jake elliott the eagles pretty much sealed up a win against the raiders. They would go on to win 1910. Still a number one seed and Home Field Advantage through the playoffs. Go eagles. Reporter but despite the win in good times this was the second week in a row the birds struggled against a much weaker opponent. Last week the defense had struggles against the giants. Last night it was the offense with what many are calling a shaky outing. The d kept them in this one. Just not playing as good as they need to play. I mean, nick played great last week and i dont know what is ws just not theyre just not doing it this week. You know what i hope for . I think the eagles are a great team. I believe they can win the super bowl. But not the way we played tonight. They got two more chances. If the vikings lose then they got the chance with dallas. Theyre going to be fine. Well get it together. Reporter we certainly hope so. Again, next week they got dallas right here in south philadelphia. Dallas, theyre not going to the playoffs, they didnt have such a good year so hopefully this is a week to get the offense and the defense running well before they head into the playoffs. Its not really doing anything of any importance. As we take a look outside we have cloudy skies. The big story of course is that breeze blowing. You can see the flags whipping around in the wind on the ben franklin parkway from our sky6 camera and its chilly out there. Right now in philadelphia, were at 27 degrees, same thing in wilmington. 22 degrees in allentown. 21 in reading. 25 in trenton. 28 in millville. But of course the big story is the wind chill and right now most of us have wind chills in the teens. Future tracker6 showing you that it pretty much stays that way in the northern half of the region all the way up to noon. Down south were seeing a lot of low 20s and then by 3 oclock, the height of the afternoon socalled warming, it may feel like its 22 in philadelphia but the idea as you look at these numbers straight into the evening is that you do need layers as you head outside today. Not only is it going to stay cold but its also going to be windy and that wind chill will be a factor. Satellite showing you some cloud cover across the region right now. I expect that to break up a bit as we go through the morning and there could be a chunk of the day during the afternoon in particular where its pretty darn bright before clouds build back in later tonight but the big story of course is how it feels and it starts with the temperature. Up in the lehigh valley, a high of just 29 today, partly sunny and with that wind blowing around, 10 to 20 Miles Per Hour feels like its in the teens today. Down the shore a little better, not much, 36 degrees is the high. Wind chills in the 20s there as well, partly sunny, breezy and cold. And in philadelphia, sun mixing with some occasional clouds. It kind of depends on what part of the day youre looking at. I do think the afternoon looks fairly bright but breezy and cold with a high of just 34 degrees and theres that wind running 10 to 20 Miles Per Hour out of the west today. Overnight the winds die down a little bit. More clouds build in. But it will be very cold. 22 the overnight low in philadelphia. 18 in philadelphia;, or in the suburbs i should say. You wake up early tomorrow morning and it stays cold. If you look to the west arctic air beginning to dip down in places like bismarck omaha. Chicago right now 1 degreeolderr is moving in our direction andy cold especially as we go through the weekend and into next week. Kwanzaa arrives, its breezy and cold for the start of the holiday. Then sunny, still cold tomorrow, 30 degrees and there we go, frigid with more of an arctic quality of air on thursday, 27 the high there. 29 on friday with more clouds gathering and then for the weekend 29 on saturday and a clipper system may pop through bringing us some possible light snow and in the very least some flurries during the day on saturday. The afternoon seems to be the focal point right now but honestly the timing has been changing on the models so stick with us on that. On sunday, new years eve, its going to be cold. Sundays high just 26 degrees. Bundle up for the eagles. Bundle up as you bang those pots and pans at midnight. Temperature about 20s in philadelphia. However youre not supposed to whine about what you did or did not receive yesterday but its okay to whine about having to go back to work. Were watching a disabled vehicle here on the westbound side approaching belmont avenue. Not too much to whine about because its all off to the side so both travel lanes are opened as you come westbound away from city avenue. Were opened in abington township along 611 old york road but getting reports of that icy conditions there at keith road. In cheltenham possibly ice as well because theyve had to extinguish a vehicle fire that resultd from a crash along ryers avenue at old soldiers road. Central avenue probably a better bet than ryers of a early this morning. Township line road is a better bet than Germantown Pike in East Norriton. There was a water main break there so some icy conditions. Salt crews on the scene but again id use township line instead. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pelood clots. Eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding th t standard treatment. Eliquis had both and that turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures.
