A Massive Police response ensued offering backup and Armored Vehicle able to save the Police Officer and the neighborhood remained on lockdown and hours later the police moved in and found the shooter dead. He fired at least 100 rounds at police. Tactical members were able to view him while motionless in the basement. At this point they affected entry into the residence and found him dead of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was identified and believe he shot his mother identified as mary louise moyer 11 times, leaving her to die in the front yard. And after moving in investigators found the amount of firearms and ammo the suspect had at his disposal. Something he was not suppose to have. And ensuing search found that he had access to two russian assault arrives and sega. 12gauge semi automatic shotgun. They believe he got the shotguns from his fathers extensive collection. And a twist to this tragic story. And they found that his father was found two days later on Christmas Day. They believe he killed himself and police today are Crediting Team work especially with the Armored Vehicle coming through saving the Police Officer and also the civilian you saw hiding behind the truck. Police officer shot critically wounded a suspect today in the cobbs creek section of philadelphia. It began at 9 00 this morning with the robbery of a person in a deli in the 5200 block of irving street and officers responded and a short time later spotted the vehicle matching the trips of the one driven by the suspect. And the suspect slammed into another vehicle. And when the officer approached the suspect police say he made threatening motions and when the officer shot the man in the chest. And the suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition. And now they believe its the end of the a day long crime spree. Well have more at 6 00.
