The weekend is finally here and chances are most of us will like the weekend forecast. Meteorologist adam joseph is in for cecily tynan night hes in the Action News Weather Center with a look at the weekend. Kind of a little bit of everything adam, hm . Both days are warm but one day far better than the other. Right now temperatures were still a bit on the chilly side but this is normal for this time of year to be sitting the at that 40 degrees for philadelphia, syracuse burlington vermont 26 degrees but look just to the west pittsburgh right now 52 degrees. That warmth it is waiting and theres a good bubble of that warmth to the south and west. Raleigh 52, cincinnati 56, even chicago right now sitting at 50 degrees and then youve got some 60s saint louis and memphis new orleans 65 degrees. High pressure down to the south and that high will that continue to push off the coast but what that is going to do is allow this front near minneapolis right now, slices through chicago tomorrow and then approaches here early on sunday morning and you can see a good amount of green on the radar here. This is 8 30 on sunday morning with a solid area of very light to moderate rainfall and that front will continue to progress through as we get into the second half of sunday. So, for the weekend ahead, upper 50s for saturday, definitely the pick of the weekend with lots of sunshine. The only thing about tomorrow is pretty strong winds. Then a rainy sunday on tap but it does dry out for our northwestern suburbs, our counties in pennsylvania could see that that rain end on sunday afternoon and then Colder Weather sets in monday night into tuesday were i was chance for some snow showers. All about the green for the next week and a half and as i say that the screen turns green here in delaware. Isnt it beautiful. 495 southbound. What i wanted to show you before that happened was a delay that were dealing with out southbound side of 495 approaching terminal avenue but the crash that caused the big delay and the slowing just cleared out. So, just 4 Miles Per Hour at the moment but the pace should be starting to pick up momentarily. Still, i think id head for 95 southbound instead of 495 southbound in wilmington. In christiana were watching an accident investigation. The crash involved a pedestrian along the southbound side of one at churchmans road. So slowing there as well by i95. This is 95 in the fishtown section of philadelphia. You can see were slow here in both directions but earlier issues that we had on 95 including a northbound crash near the betsy ross bridge and a southbound disabled truck, they both cleared out so the lanes are opened now. Its just still pretty crowded along 95. Disabled school bus on the schuylkill westbound approaching the boulevard is off to the side and the boulevards busy but at least its opened this afternoon. Unlike yesterday afternoon. Close to the 69th Street Transportation Center watch out for a crash along market near 69th street. Now were getting word of a crash in pottstown. A fourth grader with Cerebral Palsy is closer to her dream of playing the viola and her helpers are three local engineering students who have never even picked up an instrument. I just love music and i really want to play an instrument. Rain mason smith doesnt just want to listen to music she wants to make it but Cerebral Palsy makes holding the bow difficult. Since fall a trio of engineering students from Concorde High School has been designing and manufacturing a brace to give rain just the right grip. Julia weeks says the first step was pretty basic understanding how to make music. None of us play any instruments. Once they learned that, they focused on rains specific challenge. The motion of bowing comes from the elbow so when we realized thats the trouble we realized we needed to figure out something else. For julia Hannah Kennedy and antonio, its been a careful process of designing and testing proto types again and again moving a little further each time. In addition to the hand brace theyve also created a guide to limit the bows horizontal angle encouraging a better grip. And slide it right there. All the testing and changing hasnt slowed rains musical progress. Shes on track with all the other students. Its easier for me to play. It really just makes us happy to see that to see that smile on her face when she finally gets a great note out. Absolutely. And concordes engineering teacher enlists projects like you from the public. They say solving more real World Problems means much more to them than just getting a grade. Well be right back. For the final weekend of january this is going to be exceptional when you take a look at those temperatures. Not bad. We head to the Weather Center and folks enjoying a very seasonable day here on Spring Mountain live on sky6. They dont want to hear about the warmth. They want it to stay cold. They were cranking out snow last night. Good amount of folks skiing and snowboarding right now live on Spring Mountain. Whats happening is at the surface we have that chill in the atmosphere today. Weve got that cold air, it is trapped right now about 2,000 feet in the atmosphere. Its called a low level inversion in the weather world. So, theres a little weather 101. It happens on earth here and just above our heads is something that we follow but we also have to look all the way up into the atmosphere up to 5,000 feet. Whats happening is above 2000 feet, theres this warm layer of air, warm air is less dense, it is more buoyant so it is stuck over that cold dense air at the surface so we cant break that warm air down to warm us up at the surface yet. Whats going to happen tomorrow, winds will kick up everything will mix out and well get that warm air thats just above our head to come down to where we work and play. As we look at temperatures 36 in wilmington, 35 in millville, so, yes, a little cold out there right now. Weve got that clear sky. We have some high clouds to the west that are developing and some of that will come in late in the day tomorrow ahead of the next system so for tonight 29 in trenton, freezing for philadelphia, 20s for most of the suburbs under that clear sky. And again not as cold as it was the last few nights. So that inversion its going to break down here tomorrow as those winds whip up 30, 40 miles an hour so again to get that warmer air just above our heads were going into the 50s tomorrow afternoon, ver
