Out how much the eagles the nfl and philadelphia will each pitch in to cover the cost of everything. One look at the conditions on eakins oval and the ben franklin parkway shows the amount of work that is ahead for crews in the coming days. Mud is now where the grass used to be and were told thats only temporary. So is the trash but theres still a lot of it and it seems to be everywhere. For more on that lets head to action News Reporter bob brooks along the ben franklin parkway. They still have a job ahead dont they. Reporter yeah, rick and monica, they do. Maybe a record setting day in attendance certainly a record said in setter in the fact that that was a first, the first of many we hope but also a record setting day in the amount of garbage. You can see some of it surrounding me 60 tons of garbage had to be removed. Like the spot you see in front of me they still have a few places to tidy up. It was a celebration for the ages. When you have a party like that, youll also have a cleanup for the ages to go right along with it. Today crews have been busy cleaning it all up. All kinds of stuff. Most of which was stuck in mud that used to be the grass. We have philadelphia streets commissioner Carleton Williams on that. Oh, it was a lot of unique items that we saw here, so we saw grills, we saw crates, maybe people were standing on them, i dont know. As it stands right now, he says crews have collected more than 60 tons of garbage along the parade route. Thats a record for any event in the city. But his crews should be done with the cleanup work by no later than tonight. He says they dont even mind. Were like the eagles. We just go to work. We get in there real quick and, you know, thats our job and thats our business and so our guys are happy to do it. Reporter neighborhoods just outside of the parkway like spring garden, fairmount, also had some cleaning up to do. We saw quite a few piles of trash bags on street corners but neighbors we spoke with said theyre not surprised. Honestly its worth all the effort. I mean, its a mess but anyhow it was all so fun. Trash is kind of gross. More trash cans during the celebration but it was a once in a lifetime event and it was really, really great to be here. Reporter but the celebration of this magnitude were just heaper happy garbage was the only thing. I was set to go out with a giant broom and bag to clean it up. It wasnt necessary. I think this is just what happens when a big city celebrates Something Like this. Reporter you can see there is still some trash here thats supposed to be again removed by the end of the day and also a lot of mud. Whats next is a sort of a waiting game now for things to totally get back to normal. We certainly want all the grass to come back along the parkway.
