The construction northbound on i95 near allegheny is clear. Southbound no major delay just yet so in pretty good shape. We have had some icy conditions in spots and one of the areas of concern was in upper moreland here. They had to have salt trucks come out and salt warminster road so for awhile traffic was kind of having a tough time getting by but that has cleared now. Theyve already salted the area. Just use caution. Temperatures below freezing everywhere right now not just the northwest suburbs but south jersey and delaware as well so be careful. We have an accident here in douglassville on 422 eastbound approaching stow road. Speeds of about 22 miles an hour in that area. A couple of other accidents in Chester County have cleared, one on 340. Thats kings highway. We had someone trapped in the wreckage there but the crews already took care of this accident and 30 bypass eastbound that one has cleared as well. We had an accident in concordeville. That one has cleared so we had a handful of early accidents in the suburbs. A lot of them just clearing now. Take it easy on the roads matt and tam. Will do. This years flu season is one of the worst and it is impacting people throughout the Delaware Valley with no signs of letting up. Some hospitals are even restricting visitors to help stop the spread. Health Officials Saying that theres really no way of predicting when this flu season will end. The epidemic but whats particularly bad for the Delaware Valley last week. The nationwide flu outbreak could be the worst on record according to health officials. The number of flu cases being reported are increasingly alarming. The h3n2 strain also known as type a is especially packing a punch this year. Fevers, chills, a lot of coughing, sometimes even have the nausea, the vomiting, diarrhea. Reporter trying to do what they can to limit exposure, hospitals have now instituted Visitor Restrictions to protect patients, staff and visitors. Jefferson is encouraging the use of its just connect app which allows face timing. It avoids you having to go to a waiting room where flu is rampant and getting you actually getting the flu even if you may not it could save you from getting the flu. Reporter the Pennsylvania Department of health is reporting 26 flu related deaths last week alone. Since october 1st, Montgomery County has seen 2100 cases, the highest in the commonwealth. Delaware broke a record with 995 cases reported just last week. That includes six deaths. New jersey almost doubled the number of flu cases last week with over 2,000. That compares to the 4700 cases it saw the previous three weeks. Now, Health Experts say it is still not too late for you to get a flu shot. It is especially recommended if you are 65 and older. Family and friends held a vigil in honor of Curtis Williams at ninth and huntingdon streets last night. The 35yearold was killed by gunfire in north philadelphia on sunday. This is senseless. So, i just hope that justice will prevail. A southwest Philadelphia Community also came together in response to a deadly triple shooting at 75th and elmwood streets. Local clergy members of town watch, police and councilman Kenyatta Johnson went door to door to talk to neighbors from the federal corruption trial continues for the mayor of allentown. The prosecution could rest as early as today after nearly three weeks of testimony. Democrat ed pawlowski is accused of trading city contracts for campaign cash. By 8 oclock, the latest model run on future tracker suggests that well still be dry across most of the region and then as the evening wears on all the way up to 11 oclock you have the chance of at least some light showers popping through.
