Reporter flames raged through a section of the historic Business District on high street this morning. Four buildings, home to several businesses and apartments were destroyed. When they arrived early this morning, they say the bulk of the fire was in the area of some very long wooden stairs and then the flames spread from there. Nbcs john yang has the latest from texas. Late wednesday night authorities asked Sandra Blands family to preserve her body for more testing. There have been reports in the media that marijuana was found in miss blands system. I can confirm that. Asry out of new information we discovered today, the district attorney, mr. Mathis asked the civil attorney to please preserve the body. The prosecutor also said there is evidence she tried to cut herself one to two weeks prior to her death. If you take a look behind me, look in between these two buildings, you can see that charred line there. There used to be a long wooden staircase there. Firefighter it is say when they arrived, the bulk of the fire was concentrated in that area. The flames then spread from there. A total of four Historic Buildings were gutted in this fire. There were several businesses inside those buildings as well as a couple of apartments. Everybody was able to get out okay. No injuries in this fire. A tremendous amount of property damage. Those businesses are not going to be able to salvage
