The irs admitted that the number of taxpayers whose information was hacked has now tripled from the number that they released in may. The irs says the hackers were able to confirm identities by entering names,

numbers and street addresses in a part of their irs website. The experts say that information is sold online and easy to find. The irs says that hackers also tried to access information on 281,000 more people but were denied by the site. Now, the agency would only say that its aggressively moving to protect taxpayers whose account information was accessed. There will be a round of letters that will start to go out today.
