This morning, a Louisiana State trooper is in critical condition. State police say a man with a long criminal record shot him in the head yesterday. They say two people nearby saw the shooting, pinned the suspect down and put the troopers handcuffs on him before officers arrived. Police believe the suspect was driving under the influence. Also developing this morning, a new york police are questioning two people after bb pellets hit a member of the mayors security detail. The officer is out of the hospital right now. This is not the first time that someone fired off a bb gun near mayor de blasios home. The mayor was not with the female officer when the shooting happened yesterday. 5 06. A deadly crash in laurel has two families grieving right now. Two men both on motorcycles collided head on. One was this man, Baltimore County fire lieutenant hubert harrison, jr. , and the other was a 22yearold. The police say he lost control of the motorcycle but not clear why. They say harrison was coming home from work. He was just coming home from work after a shift, so definitely our hearts go out to this out to the Baltimore CountyFire Department as well as his family. Harrison worked for the Baltimore CountyFire Department for 29 years. Police have not identified him. More than 100 people have died this year so far in the district. The citys 102nd homicide happened yesterday on meade street in northeast. Someone stabbed bobby ellis to death and no suspects right now. D. C. Police made more than 200 arrest in an effort to crack down on prostitution. Nine jobs were charged with solicitation of prostitution yesterday and this crackdown program started in mid july. Officials say theyre finding that many of the men theyre arresting are visiting the district from other states. Today the colorado Movie Theater shooter could address the courtroom. At least 100 victims and witnesses of the july 2012 attack will testify in front of james holmes. We sent an alert to our nbc washington app this month when a jury found him guilty but spared him the death penalty.
