Yeah, right now, lucy and iain the worst of the system is down the shore. Still looking at very heavy rain as well as gusty winds. The rain came down in buckets across our area. Take look at the satellite radar that nasty line of showers and thunderstorms kind of plowed through the area with gusty winds in excess of 60 miles per hour. Were in the clear right now around the philadelphia area but once again some of that heavier rain continues at this hour down around the barnegat area, Atlantic City and then pushing off of cape may the heaviest of the rain. However, right behind that system, we still have a flood concern around the philadelphia area. Well talk about that in a moment but as we move down the shore you can see around cape may also, lewes Rehoboth Beach still looking at very heavy rain and perhaps a little bit of hail out of that system, and then you can see were drying out behind this and tomorrow looks much improved but take a look. We still have that Flash Flood Warning until 12 45. That includes philadelphia, toward the Cherry Hill Mall area moving toward Willingboro Pemberton and sections of Burlington County. How much rain did we see . We saw a little over 2inches right around the heart of the area. So flash flood concern continues out there with ponding on the roadways and some of the damage reports coming in across the area some ease trees down in sections of Chester County, also, north and west of philadelphia. New castle county saw some damage with some trees down. As well as far north and west. So Power Outages yet again across the area. So as we look at the clock things settle down overnight. They gave me a shot and gave me liquid medicine, and then at the end they put a special ointment on it. 11yearold glenn spears is recovering from traumatic experience this picture taken at the hospital is too bad to show in detail. But it shows Second Degree burns along the left side of his body. How it happened will shock you. He started to spray it on it and when i was wiping it off he lit it on fire. Reporter hes talking about 17yearold tiggle he was outside a friends house yesterday afternoon near 60th and hazel avenue in southWest Philadelphia. When he says the boy walked by holding hand sanitizer. One of the kids asked for some and he sprayed it on them and held a lighter to glenns body. He told me not to tell nobody. Reporter glenn ran home and tried to hide it from his mother who quickly noticed something was wrong. She says his skin was bubbling up when she rushed him to the hospital. I dont understand it. They arrested tiggle walking in the area of south 69th street. Glenn did not have a shirt on when he was burned because he had just come from swimming. Totally unsettlementable behavior. Seven murders across new jersey and pennsylvania and prosecutors say one fan played in roll in all of them. They charged 22yearold todd west and two others for randomly killing a couple in allentown and another man in easton over the weekend. Prosecutors say west crime spree started long before that accusing him of also begunking down three others in union county, new jersey, about two weeks earlier. And they say west even murdered his cousin in elizabeth new jersey in may. The cleanup is still going on tonight after a huge fire in upper darby monday night. Theres only one person that were looking at for anything and hes in custody. Reporter today upper darby officials announcing the arrest of this man 54yearold james morris. They say morris was on the second floor of this pay less building on 69th street when it went up in flames on monday night. Morris at this point in time is chargeed with criminal trespass and theft. Reporter police say morris and several other Homeless People were living in the rear of the second floor undetected for some time. Investigators say morris was scrapping metal shelfing stealing it and giving it to this man with the cart in exchange for booze. They are not identifying him because they say he is a key witness against james morris. He was inside when the fire started. Allegedly this scrap per said to him, hey, the building is on fire . Ah, dont worry about it and he walked away. Reporter fire investigators dont believe the four alarm fire was deliberately set but they have uncovered evidence that something was not right in the area where the fire began. There are some signs that possibly there was electric up there and were trying to determine whether it was there or it was tied in at one point and not tied in properly. Shes the one who had her third grade class write get well letters to convicted cop killer. The letters her class wrote went to Mumia Abu Jamal in prison the former blank pan cher serving a life sentence for the 1981 killing of officer danny faulkner. A hearing for the teacher is set for september. New ads at the Childrens Hospital of philadelphia are turning heads and some are pretty upset about it. The signs are meant to promote children safety. An advocate childrens safety told me, people are allowed to be upset but in this case, controversial or not the ads are just true. Right now at 10 30 another round of heavy storms heres a live look from old city right now outside of our studios and we have seen flashes of lightning for hours now after pounding rain earlier tonight. Reporter he watched from his second floor window back in april as police tried to arrest 22yearold tyree carol during a stop on locust avenue a few feet from his home. It was wrong what the cops did my grandson. He wasnt doing anything. And they beat him. Reporter video appears to show punches and baton strikes being delivered as carol struggles with officers. Two officers were allegedly bit by carol as they repeatedly tried to get his hands behind his back so they could cuff him. It dont make sense. Dont make sense. Reporter his grandmother nancy carol lives across the street from where the arrest took place. Grandma carol was screaming her name on the video. They beat him terrible. And he down on the ground hollering and calling me. Reporter carol was charged with a laundry list of offenses including resisting arrest. Resisting arrest . I dont see that happening. It wasnt resisting as at all. He didnt resist no arrest. They lied. Reporter while the gnar laying on the tape appears to indicate that carol was tased during the incident, police say he was not and the witness backs that up. No. I didnt see a taser. The officers are still on the street. I have no intention of taking them off at this point in time. Unless something surface that is would cause me to do that. Reporter police say carol was in possession of more than 5 grams of crack cocaine, two of the arresting officers had to be hospitalized with bleeding bites. Vivid lightning. Gusty winds as well as some damage coming in across the area right now. Folks are without power in some locations, too. But take look. You can see philadelphia is included. Northern sections of Camden County also, ass you move into northern Burlington County due to the very heavy rain we saw in this particular area we have that nash Flood Warning until 12 45. So as we take a look at some of the ultimate Doppler Radar rainfall estimates, you can see as that line kind of moved through the area, we saw a burst of heavy rain around chester philadelphia toward radnor, lower merion, bala kin wide also moving toward bensalem and mt. Laurel on average one to 2inches rain out of that system. And take look at the damage reports. Trees reported down in sections of new castle. Partial Building Collapse of three buildings and also as we move into into sections of Delaware County around the aston area reports of trees down as well as some wires across the area as you move toward the Plymouth Meeting area, some storm reports coming in in montgomery county. And then Chester County hit hard again. Numerous trees and wires down around the county in particular toward the downington area. Continueing to keep tabs on the situation overnight and then tomorrow you can see we start to clear out with the clouds, sunshine returns. Lower humidity. So tomorrow your friday will be a pretty nice and comfortable day across the area with seasonal temperatures topping out right around 86 degrees. So morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine.
