This one as you mentioned rusty griswold is grown up, ed helms is playing him originally played by Anthony Michael hall, and he is taking his family to wally world and you think it would be funny. The jokes seem funny in the trailer but everything about this movie missed the mark for me. I loved, loved, loved r rated comedy, blues brothers, animal house some of my favorite movies of all time. It is hard to do because you have to find a certain tone. Every character in this film besides ed helms was completely mean spirited. I didnt find it funny because having was so annoying and it kept going on and on and it felt like it was four hours long. I was literally, i had my fingers scratching my head saying what is going on here. Harold ramis direct original film and that was a classic. This movie misses that mark. Ed helms is fine. No, the woman they used for that scene is not Christie Brinkly. It is just a throw back, throw back to that moment. Okay. That is a great scene. And, in this movie chevy chase and Beverly Deangelo are back. They do bring back cast members of the original film but they are phoning it in. Real quickly, confirm for me this new scene where tom cruise is hanging on to that c138 or whatever it is, big airplane, how did they shoot that. Im so happy you asked me that. Im still blown away by how they did this. They shot it eight times. Essentially tom cruise is hanging on the side of the plane, everything you see there is real but he is on the harness and they digitally paint out the harness but he is hanging there. Heres the most sick part of that, there is a guy, giving him hand signals through the window for two reasons. One is a pigeon coming toward his head that could immediately kill him if it hits him at that speed and two, he could not hear or see anything and he has to deliver dialogue at that moment, so they have to add signal. They dit eight times, he went 3,000 feet in the air. They took off at 150 miles an hour per shot. Im telling you he is last remaining action star and that is not most insane stunt in the movie. He trained to hold his breath for six minutes for one sequence. He did all of the most of the motorcycle scenes with himself. This movie blew my mind, for a time period that were so inundated with cgi effects to have a five threeyear old actor doing his own stunts in a movie, that is way movies need to be done, it need to be done this way from now on, best action movie.
