Holly glenn elementary in williamstown, gloucester county, is closed down and called unsafe for students after inspectors found mold in classrooms and hallways. Ten out of ten classrooms like theres Different Levels they get tester on and report they gave us last night showed everyone of them tested high. So i dont think that, you know, i think theres an issue. Reporter its all detailed in this environmental report. Test taken monday showed elevated levels of mold. And the board voted to close the school. Parents found out at a Board Meeting last night. If youre accumulating mold on the desks, these are the desks that our kids sit at. So if its getting to the point where its on the desk, you cant tell me that you dont know that its a problem. Reporter as parents scrambled this morning to send their kids to three other district schools, they say they heard there could be a problem at the middle school. Parents tell us their kids saw crews working in the middle school friday. On facebook they were posting pictures of people taking out Ceiling Tiles in the middle school while the children are still in session. Its like crazy. What are they going to do we find out theres more mold in all the other schools, too. Reporter elevated mold levels can be dangerous and can cause respiratory issues, allergies and asthma. We need to get this fixed. These problems exist. Close the schools for a couple of days. Test them all. Reporter the superintendent told the board and the parents last night that holly glenn will remain closed while it is cleaned. That could take a couple of weeks to a couple of months. The National Hurricane center issued a hurricane and storm surge warnings for southeast louisiana, the mississippi and alabama coasts. The deadly storm already left major destruction in central america. Nicaragua was hit especially hard at least 21 people dead in its wake. And now churning towards the united states. Officials are expecting several inches of rain and unusually high tides. Evacuation orders are already being issued for some coastal communities right now. More convection around that center of circulation. Its moving through the yucatan peninsula will emerge into the gulf of mexico over the weekend. Likely maintaining a category one hurricane status before it makes landfall. So take look at that latest track. Heres tomorrow afternoon. 70 Miles Per Hour winds. And then making landfall somewhere around new orleans or just to the east as a category one hurricane saturday night into sunday morning. Then the remnant moisture look at the track heads in our direction monday into early tuesday. We definitely need the rainfall but look at the hurricane warnings along sections of the gulf coast from mobile alabama all the way to the new orleans area watching out for maybe three to 6inches of rainfall there. And look at the track with the spaghetti plots moving towards sections of gulf coast then eventually headed in our direction. For tomorrow what about a High Temperature of 84 degrees. Tomorrow looking pretty good but by sunday, High Temperatures will be in the upper 70s. There will be a few showers around. Not a washout but it looks like the heaviest of the rainfall the leftover tropical moisture from nate will move in sunday night into monday but High Temperatures both days for the upcoming weekend well above the normal high of 70 degrees much latest on Tropical Storm nate, 60 miles an hour winds, moving pretty rapidly to the north northwest at about 21 miles an hour. 80 miles to the east now of cozumel mexico. It will emerge into the gulf intensify a bit likely to a category one hurricane before making landfall sometime late saturday night into early sunday morning.
