Reporter three shots fired in the middle of about six kids crowded up in a tussle during an argument. We heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, and we just thought it was fireworks. These children are out on the street with guns and shooting each other. We have two deaths of 16yearold boys that were killed. Thats that. Thats the end of it. Its final. So sad. There are people that are being identified as we speak. His mother never said hes giving me a hard time. Hes not tough. Didnt act tough. If you look at him you can see the geek in him. Also shot and killed in that tussle was 16yearold kahlir miller he lives a couple miles away from the shooting scene and attends mastery charter near ninth and oregon. His neighbors say he was good kid. Quiet, carried hisself like a decent young man. Just one of those tragic mixes when arguments happen and years ago it used to be fist fights and now guns are introduced into the mix. Uncalled for. Uncalled for. It has to stop. One shooter, one gun, 45 caliber handgun, and two kids are dead tonight. A vigil will be held in about an hour in south philadelphia. Dawn . All right, so sad and so senseless. Thank you joyce. Iconic south Philadelphia Restaurant gutted by flames. The two alarm fire at bridget foys on south street broke out around 1 30 this morning over hundred firefighters fought those flames for hours outside. Saying it was just too dangerous to go in. Were still not sure what caused that fire. Neighbors are absolutely devastated. That restaurant was such a huge part of south street for the community for 40 years. Its a fun place to be. Its a friendly place to be. We know the family. Im just hoping that they rebuild and reopen because its important to the whole neighborhood. The fire displaced 11 people, injured three firefighters and killed two dogs in a pet store next door. A Delivery Driver attacked knocked out and robbed at a gas station. That victim was unconscious for days. The whole attack caught on camera. Our jeff cole is live in southwest philadelphia with this horrifying story and, jeff, the video very hard to watch. Reporter dawn, it certainly is. Really the shear brutality of this attack is absolutely fully captured on camera and certainly tonight investigators are hoping to use those images to make an arrest. Allentown man facing charges to night in connection with a deadly stabbing at his home. Prosecutors say 65yearold leon wilson stabbed and killed his exgirlfriends daughter last month. Hes charged with voluntary manslaughter. Police say the victim, 37yearold chanel allen, showed up at wilsons home way friend drunk and high. Investigators say the women began attacking woman who lives there and thats when police say wilson stepped in. These women particularly the decedent and theresa hurdle have created a situation by their drunken and assault seive behavior that resulted in the unfortunate and tragic death of chanel allen. Police say wilson is slightly disable and told investigators he had to do something to protect himself. He told officers he got a knife and poked allen hoping she and her friend would stop. Allen died of one stab wound to the chest. Turning now to your Weather Authority an very fall like day outside as we take a live look at wilmington, delaware. But scientists are finding out it is a brain disease. Addiction is a disease. Its a chronic relapses brain diss or it changes the structures of the brain that affects the chemistry of the brain, it affecting cell to cell signaling in the brain. Reporter cover story on the September Issue of National Geographic goes behind the science of addiction. Writer fran smith says decades of research has developed a detailed picture of how addiction disrupts the brain by causing hundreds of changes in its anatomy and chemistry. Those changes can trigger people to relapse from the simplest things many of us dont even notice. Normal environment certain things can trigger the cravings. So that the smell of a cigarette if youre addicted to cigarettes the clinic of ice news drink in youre an alcoholic. Even if people are trying to control the behavior and the desire, little cues can trigger that desire and make it almost overwhelming for people. Its cool wind for us so tomorrow temperatures will be cooler than today. And then a little bit of warmth up the coast for friday and saturday before the cooler air moves in and very stormy way.
