(AP) — School systems in seven West Virginia counties will receive $75 million for construction and renovation. The state School Building Authority awarded the funding Monday for public school projects in Greenbrier, Jefferson, Mercer, Mineral, Ohio, Roane and Summers counties. Ohio County will receive $18 million from the state for renovations to six schools, while Roane County will get nearly $14 million for a new Spencer Middle School. Mercer County will get $9.6 million for a new building to consolidate Bluewell and Brushfork elementary schools, while a $9.6 million grant will go toward construction of a new elementary school in the Mineral County community of Frankfort.
