York County man charged after high-speed chase that started on Route 11/15 Updated Jan 10, 2021; SELINSGROVE – A York County man is facing a number of charges after leading state police on a chase through two counties at speeds that topped 100 miles per hour. State police said the pursuit began shortly after 5 p.m. Friday when a 2011 Mazda CX-7 was clocked by radar going 101 mph northbound on Route 11/15 in Selinsgrove. An attempt to stop the vehicle was unsuccessful and it continued northbound into Hummels Wharf where it turned onto the Old Trail, they said. The driver, later identified as Desmond Paige Waltman, 18, of Wrightsville, continued north at a high rate of speed, passing traffic and forcing southbound motorists off the road to avoid a collision, police said.
