Arriving soon on six 2022 General Motors vehicles. Among the Level 2 driver assistance systems we've tested, General Motors' Super Cruise is the most effective. Super Cruise currently enables hands-free driving on compatible highways, with the enhanced version adding automatic lane changes. Today, GM announced expanded Super Cruiser capabilities for six 2022 model year vehicles. These vehicles include the upcoming 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, Hummer EV Pickup, Chevrolet Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, CT4, and CT5. Certain 2021 model year vehicles will receive the updates through an over-the-air-update. The aforementioned vehicles will gain three new features for 2022. Most importantly, Super Cruise will now function when towing a trailer, boat, or camper. Ford's upcoming BlueCruise will not have this ability when it launches later this year. The second feature is the Enhanced navigation display, which now shows compatible roads in the navigation system or the built-in Google Maps app. Finally, the automatic lane-change feature will alert drivers when it is optimal to make a passing maneuver.
