Checking Windows Compatibility Side-window vent visors don’t always play nice with power windows. These little window rain shields attach in two ways, either adhered to the upper door frame via two-sided tape; or inserted with metal clips into the channel that the window glass travels in. It’s the latter type that can cause problems with doors equipped with auto-reverse windows, which switch to opening when they encounter something blocking their travel, such as someone’s fingers. If the metal clips are too thick, the window will reverse direction when you try to close it. Check with your supplier to make sure they’re compatible with auto-reversing windows.
