CORNWALL/IROQUOIS – A South Dundas youth who brought knives to school in January last year and threatened another student has been sentenced to probation and community service.
The 15-year-old, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was sentenced last week after pleading guilty in a Cornwall court to making death threats, possession of a dangerous weapon and disturbing the peace.
Charges of break and enter and forcible entry were withdrawn by the Crown, court records show.
The young offender will be on probation for two years and has to submit a DNA sample to the court. The probation order includes a clause that the boy not have any direct or indirect contact with the student he threatened.
