Zack Snyder's 'Army of the Dead' is way too much. It's also pretty fun

Imagine the most glorious, goriest orgy of zombie excess.
Now imagine that’s not nearly enough and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s going on in “Army of the Dead.”
As in, Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead.” Snyder is synonymous with the too-much-is-never-enough ethos in films, whether it’s effects, running time or just everything, really. Granted, “Army of the Dead” checks in at a mere 2 hours and 28 minutes — practically a short film compared to the 4 hours and 2 minutes of “Justice League.”
Sorry, that’s “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” Truly he is a director for whom it can be said that if there is something worth doing, it’s worth overdoing.
