Imagine the most glorious, goriest orgy of zombie excess. Now imagine that’s not nearly enough and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s going on in “Army of the Dead.” As in, Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead.” Snyder is synonymous with the too-much-is-never-enough ethos in films, whether it’s effects, running time or just everything, really. Granted, “Army of the Dead” checks in at a mere 2 hours and 28 minutes — practically a short film compared to the 4 hours and 2 minutes of “Justice League.” Sorry, that’s “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” Truly he is a director for whom it can be said that if there is something worth doing, it’s worth overdoing.
