Taliban Attack Repulsed in Bamyan 2020-09-22 Tuesday, September 22, 2020 Kabul (BNA) Taliban attack in Shibar district of Bamyan repulsed with suffering casualties yesterday. Mohammad Reza Yousefi, spokesman for Bamyan police chief told BNA that more than 100 Taliban insurgents attacked security checkpoints in Baghak village of Shibar district last night from Taleh and Barfak in Baghlan, but were repulsed by security forces. Taliban Ambush Claims 4 Elite Police Forces Local officials in Bamyan province reported four members of the special police force were killed by Taliban insurgents in Shibar district of the province. Sadeq Moradi, the police chief of Bamyan province, said the incident took place on Saturday in Hunter’s Valley of Shibar district. Moradi added that a special police unit had been sent to the area to prevent possible Taliban attacks on the Baghak checkpoint. According to him, the special police unit was caught in a militant ambush, where four soldiers were killed and two others were wounded. According to the reports, two policemen were killed and one was wounded. The Taliban clashed with the afghan police force following their attacks, which last until 10 am this morning. Reports indicate, Taliban support teams under the command of Mohammad Sadeq, Bamyan’s security chief were dispatched to Baghak village, but were ambushed by the insurgents while crossing Shikari valley that delayed their reach to the area.
AT News KABUL: Officials in Bamyan province confirm that a dead body found in a river in the Shibar district was a bodyguard of President Ashraf Ghani. Provincial Spokesman Latif Azimi on Wednesday identified the body as Aziz Ahmad Alemyar a member of the President Protective Service (PPS), a well-trained unit responsible for president’s security. The body was found on Tuesday in the Paimori village of Shibar, according to Azimi, who said it was not clear how the body was thrown to the river. He said that Alemyar’s body was sent to the forensic in Kabul for more investigation.
