POLAND Trent Letourneau had fully intended to bring his girlfriend, Montana Lobb, to the Poland Regional High School prom Saturday night.
He bought their tickets and began to get ready for the big night.
“She was so excited to go to prom that she went all out,” said Darcy Pettengill Letourneau, Trent’s mom. “She found the dress, the shoes, the hair… everything. In fact, she’s still paying on the dress. She looks stunning. She feels stunning.”
COVID-19 cases in Maine schools rise to highest levels of the pandemic
School officials say the increase is a reflection of community spread, not transmission in schools, and several are continuing with plans to increase in-person learning.

The number of coronavirus cases in Maine schools is rising as cases in the community remain high and as many students return to more in-person learning.
The current case rate in schools is 45 per 10,000 students and staff over the last 30 days, according to the Maine Department of Education. That number is still lower than the case rate among the general population – at 74 cases per 10,000 people – but is the highest rate the department has reported since it started releasing comparisons of the case rates in early December.
