India is facing acute shortage of medical oxygen amid a devastating second wave.
The UAE has provided 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs and other medical supplies to India battling a fresh wave of Covid-19 infections, top officials said.
India is facing acute shortage of medical oxygen. So, ventilators and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) devices, which offer breathing support, are well-timed Covid-19 relief supplies.
And Arindam Bagchi, official spokesperson, Indian Ministry of External Affairs, thanked the UAE for the ‘gift’.
“Taking forward our warm, close and multi-faceted relations. Thank our friend UAE for gift of 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs and other medical supplies,” the spokesperson tweeted. ....

Noor Kayas wanted more from life than was possible in a crowded refugee camp in Bangladesh.
Noor Kayas fled the refugee camp without telling anyone at home.
At sea the next morning, the teenager used a satellite phone to call her mother, Gule Jaan, 43, to say she was heading for Malaysia on a small wooden boat, packed with 87 Rohingya refugees, including 65 women and girls.
