Islamabad: Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has achieved yet another milestone by scaling Mount Everest (8848 meters), the tallest peak in the world.
The expedition was sponsored by the Serena Hotels under its Adventure Diplomacy. According to a spokesman for Serena Hotels, Sirbaz is on Mission 14, a quest to become the first Pakistani mountaineer to scale all 14 peaks over 8000 meters around the world.
Sirbaz uses no supplemental oxygen in his expeditions, which is a further testament to his grit and talent. We are proud to announce that Pride of Pakistan Mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has raised the green flag on Mt Everest. ....

KATHMANDU: Two climbers from the United States and Switzerland have died on Mount Everest, becoming the first fatalities of this year s season, expedition organisers in Nepal said Thursday.

Israeli natural gas operations at the offshore Tamar field are now shut-in following instructions from the Israeli ministry of energy, US major Chevron, the field s operator, said May 12.
Conflict between the Palestinian group Hamas and Israeli forces has escalated in recent days, following simmering tensions over the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, one of Islam’s holiest religious sites.
Chevron said it was focused on the safety of not only its personnel, but the facilities and the communities where it operates. As such, it closed operations offshore in accordance with instructions from the Israeli government. ....
