A Catholic district chief in Indonesia has been named as one of 16 suspects charged in an embezzlement scandal involving government land in a tourism area in East Nusa Tenggara province.
Agustinus Ch Dula, who heads West Manggarai district, and the others are accused of selling off 30 hectares of government-owned land near the coast in Labuan Bajo on the western tip of Flores, said Yulianto, head of the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor s Office. ....

Nandipur graft case: IHC tosses out NAB's appeal against Babar Awan's acquittal

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday dismissed the appeals of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against acquittal of Adviser to the Prime Minister Babar Awan in the Nandipur Power Project case and upheld a decision of a trial court.
A division bench of the IHC also overturned the trial court’s decision to reject an acquittal plea of former secretary Masood Chishti.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Babar Sattar conducted a hearing on NAB’s appeals against the acquittal of Adviser to the Prime Minister Babar Awan and former secretary Riaz Kiyani in the Nandipur reference. The verdict was reserved on October 5, after listening arguments from both sides. Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik had acquitted Awan and Kiayni on June 25 last year, and dismissed the acquittal plea of Masood Chishti in Nandipur case. NAB had challenged the acquittal of the accused before the IHC. ....

As the team notes, the charging station frames can be configured in different ways: either featuring an opaque roof with or without greenery; or a glass roof with or without integral photovoltaic panels. When implemented, the photovoltaic system supplies energy for the lounge and the integrated media technology. Slats beneath the roof act as filters, modulating and channeling sunlight into the charging bay area.

Based on two basic modules, the smaller of these two modules can be combined to form XS or S stations. With a rectangular footprint of around 3.5m × 5m, it was developed for use in existing car parks and service areas. The self-supporting steel structure allows the modules to be extended to create smaller drive-through variants with up to four charging points. Yangon – The Anti-Corruption Commission of Myanmar (ACC) has filed a lawsuit against a manager at the Ministry of Transport and Communications for allegedly soliciting bribes.
The ACC said on Monday that it had launched an investigation against U Soe Paing, general manager of the Department of Civil Aviation, after receiving reports of corruption.
U Soe Paing is accused of abusing his position while director of the Air Traffic Control Inspection and general manager of the Air Navigation Control Division.
The ACC said the accused had solicited up to US$100 (134,000 kyats) from foreign agents and operators for each flight permit. ....
