The Clay County Health Department has received notification of potential COVID exposure for individuals working at First Christian Church or being served a Christmas Eve Meal from the First Christian Church in Flora on December 24.  Due to the large number of individuals that may possibly have been exposed, Clay County Hospital Medical Clinic and the Clay County Health Department are establishing additional testing hours to accommodate those seeking tests. HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Wednesday marked week two of COVID-19 vaccinations, with 581 vaccinations logged so far since the first doses of vaccine arrived in the South Heartland Health District on December 15.
South Heartland District Health Department Executive Director Michele Bever said Phase 1 of vaccine distribution identifies priority groups to receive the vaccine due to the initial limited availability of vaccine. Health care workers are prioritized to receive the first doses of the vaccine, beginning with those who have direct patient contact. ....

School Board member Kevin Kumpf (left) received a plaque from Board President Tom Reberger in appreciation for his service to the board, the school corporation and the community during the December meeting.

As 2021 approaches, School Board President Tom Reberger presented a plaque to outgoing board member Kevin Kumpf for his service as a member of the Clay Community School Board of Trustees, but it was for much more.
“I’ve enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to serve on the school board for CCS and to serve the people of Clay County,” said Kumpf, who congratulated the newest employees of the corporation by saying, “You’re going to love it (…working for the schools). I’ve always said we have more than our fair share of good people working at CCSC. Good luck, and thank you.” ....
