Four imported cases in S wak, including three from Johor

KUCHING: All the four new Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak today were imported, with three involving individuals who arrived from Johor, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC). This brings the cumulative number of cases in Sarawak to 1,114, SDMC said in a statement. The three B import cases (originating from another part of Malaysia) involved two individuals who entered through the Sibu Airport and one who landed at the Kuching International Airport on Dec 26 and 27. It said one of them was a Sarawak woman who arrived at the Sibu Airport from the Senai Airport in Johor on Dec 26 and was confirmed Covid-19 positive yesterday.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update statement, said eight of these new cases were classified as imported cases, while the remaining case was a local transmission. “Of these nine new cases, six were detected in Sibu, two in Kuching and one in Sri Aman,” announced SDMC.
