Mysterious money launderer for hire being investigated by specialist gardai

Specialist gardai are investigating a very unusual case into the activities of a mysterious criminal who is suspected of acting as a “money launderer for hire.” A series of searches and examinations of bank accounts took place on Thursday in Co Cork as officers try to untangle a web of suspicious transactions, activities and associations. Fraud squad detectives launched a major money laundering investigation after they seized over €76,000 worth of sterling and made two arrests as part of a major operation at Dublin Port just after midnight on May 1 last. The 35-year-old at the centre of the investigation is originally from the north east of the country but is now living in Cork.

Richardson is first woman of color appointed president of Colorado College

L. Song Richardson will be the 14th president of Colorado College. Richardson, currently the dean and chancellor’s professor of law at University of California Irvine School of Law, will succeed President Jill Tiefenthaler, who led CC for nine years. The Colorado College Board of Trustees appointed her following a unanimous vote Dec. 9. Her presidency at Colorado College will begin on July 1, 2021. Richardson, who is Black and Korean, will be the first woman of color to hold the presidency at CC. Acting Co-President Mike Edmonds, who has been serving along with Acting Co-President Robert G. Moore since Tiefenthaler’s departure in July, is the first person of color to serve in the presidential capacity.
