The engineering firm is starting the planning and design phase of a project that would replace 800 feet of failed stormwater pipe from a May 2019 flooding event that left the roadway in several inches of flowing water.
CANFIELD TOWNSHIP Communities are still grappling with a massive storm in May 2019 and trying to secure funding for failed infrastructure.
One of those communities is Canfield Township.
During the May 28, 2019, historic rainfall that annihilated the area, a 48-inch storm sewer collapsed on Pebble Beach Drive in three residents’ yards. ....

PAULDING COUNTY – The Paulding County Commissioners met in a regular session recently with Roy Klopfenstein, Mark Holtsberry, Clint A. Vance and Heather Barnhouse, clerk of the commissioner’s office, present.
The Health Department of Paulding County seeks to repair and/or replace failing home sewage treatment systems. To accomplish this goal it intends to apply for the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF). In order for the application of the loan to be accepted and the execution of the WPCLF assistance agreement the government authority must pass legislation.
The commissioner’s authorized the Health Deparment to apply for the assistance, sign all pertinent documents and enter into a WPCLF with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for the repair/replacement of failing home sewage treatment systems. ....

LISBON Even more Columbiana County residents with failing septic systems and a lack of income to replace them will get help through programs with the Columbiana County General Health District this year.
County Health Commissioner Wes Vins told the board this week that the health department has learned they will not only receive the $150,000 they usually receive from the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund, but the department also will get another $150,000 through an H2O Ohio grant program.
Vins said he received a phone call and learned Columbiana County was one of 11 counties chosen in the state and mostly because the county has done such a good job utilizing all the money they have received through the WPCLF program over many years. ....
