MEDWAY Twin sisters from Westborough are alleging sexual harassment at their former workplace, a Medway-based union office, even as union leadership accuses one of them of mismanaging funds to the tune of nearly $1.5 million.
The two legal cases were filed at the beginning of the year. Each side denies the allegations made by the other.
Ginamarie Alongi and her sister Rosemarie Alongi worked at offices managing benefits for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4. Ginamarie worked there for 42 years, according to her lawyer, including 24 as administrator of the funds.
At least four boards of trustees for different funds associated with the union, collectively called the Funds, as well as the union itself, filed a case on Jan. 29 against Ginamarie Alongi in Massachusetts U.S. District Court.

This week, to mark the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared the patron of the Universal Church, the Holy Father called for a year dedicated to St. Joseph. Of course, we know that the Holy Father, like Pope John XXIII, has long had a great devotion to St. Joseph. When Pope Francis became a bishop, he included the lilies of St. Joseph in his coat of arms. Pope John XXIII added the name of St. Joseph to the Roman Canon, and Pope Francis has now extended the inclusion of the prayer to St. Joseph to all the canons of the Mass.
