JAMMU, Mar 13: At least three legislators of a political party whose presence is largely confined to Telangana are under scanner as their names have surfaced during questioning of some of the Rohingyas for facilitating their entry to Jammu after infiltrating into India from Myanmar via Bangladesh while security agencies say at least 46 Rohingyas had managed to get identity proofs in their favour including Aadhaar, Voter cards etc. Even a fake card of United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has been found in possession of one of the Rohingyas. ....

JAMMU, Mar 11: Boost to economy and Per Capita Income apart from Agriculture, Horticulture and Social Welfare are likely to be major focus of the Jammu and Kashmir Government in annual budget of the Union Territory scheduled to be presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman next week.
Besides employment, generating self-employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir under ‘Atamnirbhar Bharat’ are also likely to be the focus areas in the budget which has been given final touch by Finance Department of the Union Territory and the Union Finance Ministry. ....

Home ministry asks North eastern states to prevent influx from Myanmar

The deputy commissioner of Falam district, Myanmar has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Champai district in Mizoram to detain Myanmar police personnel and hand them over to Myanmar. People in villages adjoining the border area said that around 100 people have come to Mizoram since February this year.

The letter stated, “In view of above, you are requested to take appropriate action as per law to check illegal influx from Myanmar into India.”
Union ministry of Home Affairs has asked north eastern states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur to prevent influx of refugees from neighbouring Myanmar, saying state governments have no power to grant refugee status to any foreigners. ....
