MINGORA: Two people were killed and 23 others, including women and children, injured when a passenger coach plunged into a deep gorge at Samai area in Kabal tehsil in Swat district.
It was learnt that the coach was negotiating a sharp turn when its driver lost control over the steering wheel and the vehicle fell into the ravine. Two persons were killed in the accident. They were identified as Safia and Syed Muhtaj.
The injured were taken to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital in Swat. The Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene and took part in the rescue activities. They also helped in shifting the injured to the hospital. ....

Police have discovered two rounds of live ammunition in a passenger s luggage at Christchurch International Airport.
Police were called to the airport this afternoon after the passenger tried to legally check a disabled firearm in his luggage on a domestic flight.
But officers also discovered two live rounds of ammunition inadvertently left in a magazine, a police spokeswoman told the Herald. ....

A growing number of passengers are waiting until summer to travel, according to a recent passenger survey conducted by Dubai-based budget carrier flydubai. 
 
The survey, which was conducted this February with 2,800 passengers, was aimed to gauge passenger feedback on their travel plans and their experience while travelling with flydubai.
 
As per the survey, 66% of UAE residents said that they were likely to travel soon, either in the next one to three months (41%) or in the next four to six months (25%), indicating an intent to travel during the summer. 
 
When asked about the reasons for postponing travel 40% of them cited the barriers to travel such as quarantine when returning home and travel restrictions as the key factors in delaying their travel plans.  ....

MANILA, May 15 (Xinhua): The Philippines will ban international arrivals from Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting Saturday amid concerns over the new coronavirus variant first detected in India, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has announced.
All travelers coming from Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or those with travel history to these two countries within the last 14 days preceding arrival shall be prohibited from entering the Philippines beginning 00:01 of May 15,2021, until 23:59 of May 31,2021, Roque said in a statement.
But passengers already in transit from these two countries and all those who have been to these countries within 14 days immediately preceding arrival to the Philippines who arrive before May 15,2021, will be allowed entry, Roque said. ....

China has tightened quarantine and testing rules for incoming travelers, especially those from India and some neighboring countries experiencing surging COVID-19 cases, as the virus is mutating more rapidly and new strains are spreading faster worldwide, officials said on Friday.
He Qinghua, an official with the National Health Commission s disease prevention and control bureau, said all passengers arriving in China from overseas must be quarantined for 14 days at centralized facilities, particularly those returning from India and other countries hit hard by the virus. ....
