Pictures show adorable new piglets in Battersea Battersea Park Zoo have welcomed two adorable new piglets last week. On Tuesday ( July 20 ), Cynthia, an Oxford Sandy and Black sow, gave birth to her first litter of piglets. It comes after a gestation period of three months, three weeks and three days. Head keepers Jamie and Charlotte stayed with Cynthia overnight to monitor the birth and can confirm that everything went really well. Cynthia has given birth to two spritely piglets, one male and one female. Battersea Zoo A spokesperson for Battersea Park Zoo said: Typically, pigs have smaller first-time litters, so we are pleased that Cynthia can focus her attention on just two infants and gain all of the skills needed to be a successful sow. ....
Battersea Park Zoo is appealing to the public to help feed its animals over lockdown. The family-favourite spot relies entirely on visitors’ donations and is struggling over lockdown to maintain daily running costs. Members, visitors and friends are being asked to chip in to save zoo, which has been based in South London for nearly 70 years. The zoo says £150 is needed to feed its 50 animal species and provide fresh bedding for one day. This includes all fresh vegetables, fruits, pellet feeds, meat, fish, straw and hay.
