KITCHENER A pair of Cambridge residents have some extra money in their bank accounts following separate lottery wins. Michele Curtis won $250,000 in an Instant Crossword game. The 60-year-old personal support worker said she plays the lottery regularly, but this is her first big win. “I thought I scratched it wrong at first – I had to get my sister to check!” Curtis said. “Your mind tells you it’s not real – it didn’t happen! But now I can say – it’s real!” Curtis said winning the money takes a big weight off her shoulders. “I’ve always been good with my money, but now I don’t have to worry, she said. I am going to complete some home renovations and help my daughter with her wedding.”
Robert Welch of Cambridge won $200,000 with The Big Spin Instant game. The 55-year-old custodian said he is a regular player and likes to play games the retailers recommend. “I played my ticket in the store and saw the wheel spinning on the lottery terminal, said Welch. I didn’t realize I was a Big Winner until the clerk said OLG was on the phone for me, I was shocked.” He said he feels happy to share the moment with his wife of 27 years. The father and new grandfather plans to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage and some bills as well as purchase some new furniture.

A North Bay teacher is $150,000 richer after winning with ‘The Bigger Spin Instant’ game.
Patti Meehan, a self professed ‘regular lottery winner,’ said instant lottery games have been her form of entertainment during the pandemic.

The mother of two says she went to the mall for the first time in months when she picked up her instant tickets.
“I went home and began to cook dinner and play my tickets and noticed that one was a big winner,” she said.
Saban Arayan won the prize with the OLG’s Bigger Spin Instant game.
The $10 game works by combining scratch tickets with prizes revealed in-store by an animated spinning wheel on the lottery terminal screen. It also offers the possibility for an in-person spin on the “Bigger Spin” wheel at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I watched the wheel land on Bigger Spin on the lottery terminal – I had happy tears in my eyes,” Arayan said. “I was shocked.”
After the 49-year-old restaurant owner learned he was going to Toronto, he said he went back to his restaurant to share the news with his wife.
