Police apprehended an escaped convict with ties to Stephens County in Wichita Falls, Texas on Wednesday afternoon following a manhunt that began Tuesday evening near McAlester, Oklahoma, according to a report from The Davis News.
The convict, Preston Whittington, of Comanche, escaped in the early hours of Wednesday, March 31 from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester, Oklahoma. Whittington is serving time after being incarcerated on charges of kidnapping, second degree burglary and contributing to the delinquency of minors in Stephens County in 2019.
According to Davis Police, the escaped prison inmate from McAlester âled officers on a high speed pursuit then fled on foot on River Bottom Road just south of Scruggs Road in Davis.âÂ
