Trial for ex-teacher charged with assault postponed

The criminal trial for former Concord High School teacher Howie Leung who is accused of sexually assaulting a Concord student here and at a boarding school in Massachusetts has been postponed again, this time until next winter.
The jury trial, which was set to begin Tuesday at Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn, Mass., has been rescheduled for Jan. 25, 2022, with a pre-trial conference on Jan. 14.
The schedule of jury trials has been backed up in Massachusetts since last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jury trials were halted in the state in March 2020 when the pandemic hit, and did not resume again until Jan. 2021, meaning many trials have been delayed far into the future. ....
