Rawalpindi : The incidence of eye cancer is increasing in Pakistan calling for early detection, diagnosis and proper treatment as almost 30 percent of the eye cancer patients are children which is a growing threat that needs an urgent and full response, said Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital.
Annually almost 2200 people are diagnosed with eye cancer and the number is growing therefore the trust has established a Cancer Eye Clinic to provide assistance to the needy, said Professor Dr. Tayyab Afghani, Consultant and HOD of Orbit and Oculoplastic Department, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital.
He said that timely detection can save sight as the problem gets complicated by the passage of time that may cause vision loss, loss of the eye or may prove fatal. A newly married man was among the five people that perished when a bus plunged into a river in Aponmu village, Akure South council area of Ondo State along Akure /Ondo highway, on Sunday.
The 18-seater bus marked Lagos AAA 859 XC in which they were travelling in from Lagos plunged into the Owena river, killing them instantly, while six others, including the bride were reportedly pulled out alive.

NOWSHERA: Seven persons of a family, including two women, were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when two brothers along with their sons allegedly attacked the home of their own brother in Spinkani Sheikhi area in the district on Sunday.
District Police Officer Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that Sardar Ali, Misal Khan, Fazal Khan and Asal Khan had a dispute over an appointment on a vacancy in the local irrigation tube-well in Spinkani Sheikhi area, which led to the bloodshed.

LAHORE: Pakistan is about to cancel registration of 204 seed companies including multinationals for noncompliance with the local laws, it was learnt on Saturday.
In compliance of section 22 (B) (8) of Seed Amendment Act, 2015 and Rule (5) of seed (Business Regulation) Rules, 2016, a total of 204 seed companies have been identified for cancellation of registration, according to a notification issued by the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department (FSC&RD).
The under-question companies include multinationals like Pioneer, Syngenta, and Monsanto while most of them are located in the province of Punjab. This is the second such move in recent months in which registration of seed companies have been cancelled on various counts. Earlier in January, the federal government cancelled licenses of more than 200 seed companies for noncomplying with the laws under a revised ....
