Construction has started on AJ 40 Under 40 practice Surman Weston’s latest private house commission, a 102m² home in south London featuring a perforated brick façade
The scheme will sit on an exposed corner plot near the centre of Peckham and has been designed in brick to complement its Victorian terrace surroundings.

A minimal box will be enclosed by a perforated façade with a brick header detail specially developed for the project. Header bricks in Flemish bond gradually step back as the building gets higher ‘to create a sense of lightness as one moves up the building’.
