Last Saturday 12 veterans marched from Ōrākau Memorial near Kihikihi to the Returned Servicemen s Association in Te Awamutu to raise money for the Te Awamutu Poppy Appeal Trust.
The walk totaled approximately 10 kilometers and took them two and a half hours to complete. ....

(pic) or Jho Low would not dare to deceive Datuk Seri Najib Razak due to their good relationship, the Court of Appeal was told.
Ad hoc prosecutor Datuk V. Sithambaram said it was too far-fetched that Jho Low, being in a position subordinate to the appellant (Najib), would have the audacity to orchestrate fraudulent transactions that would directly implicate the former prime minister.
Sithambaram submitted this before a three-member bench led by Judge Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil in the hearing of Najib’s appeal against his conviction and jail sentence for misappropriation of RM42mil in SRC International Sdn Bhd funds. ....

Court of Appeal told Najib 'turned blind eye' to millions of ringgit deposited in account

PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal was told that large sums of money had entered into the bank accounts of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, but the former prime minister did not make enquiries to ask where the money came from.
Instead, the Pekan MP had “immediately utilised” the monies by issuing cheques for personal and political uses, moved millions between two companies, and had shopping sprees at Swiss luxury jeweller boutique De Grisogono in Italy and designer boutique Chanel in Honolulu in the United States.
(During the trial, the High Court was told that Najib had spent about RM3.3mil at De Grisogono to buy a gift meant for the wife of Qatar s former prime minister and bought a RM466,000 (US$130,625) Chanel watch for his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.) ....

Australia’s peak body for the oil and gas industry said today’s announcement of $539.2 million in new hydrogen and carbon capture, use and storage projects by the Morrison Government is a massive boost for the industry and will help to further cut Australia’s emissions.

An Invercargill man sentenced to life imprisonment over the death of Invercargill teen Jack McAllister has lost an appeal against his conviction.
Justice Gilbert released his decision today following an appeal in the Court of Appeal from Christopher James Brown, who was found guilty as party to the murder of McAllister after a jury trial in 2018. ....
