Constitutional challenge on public health orders continues Monday


 
WINNIPEG
A constitutional challenge calling on the courts to strike down parts of the province’s public health act is back on the docket Monday.
The challenge was launched by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms on behalf of seven Manitoba churches, a minister, a deacon and a man who was fined for attending an anti-lockdown rally in Steinbach. It will focus on the justification of the province’s lockdown measures.
The centre argues Manitoba’s lockdown measures are unjustified and violate some charter-protected freedoms like religion, expression and peaceful assembly. The centre’s lawyers also argue the province failed to consider the societal consequences the lockdown measures brought about. ....

Broadway to deliver fibre broadband to Angle, Tiers Cross and Lawrenny and Martletwy


Now Angle, Tiers Cross, Lawrenny and Martletwy are working with Broadway Partners as their new broadband providers.
This is part of Pembrokeshire County Council s Digital Connectivity Programme, which aims to deliver broadband speeds of up to 1,000mbps(megabits per second) across the county.
In addition to Dale, New Moat, Ambleston, Herbrandston, Wiston, Slebech, Llanycefn, Crymych and Nevern communities who have already chosen Broadway Partners as their rural providers for this programme, Angle, Tiers Cross,Lawrenny and Martletwy communities have now selected the business as well.
Michael Armitage, CEO of Broadway Partners said: “Our goal is to provide affordable, high speed broadband to digitally disadvantaged areas, particularly across Wales and Scotland. We are excited to have been selected to connect some of the more rural parts of Pembrokeshire, moving us one step closer to achieving our goal. ....

National Theatre
The National Theatre reopens from 2 June with a production of After Life, adapted from the film by Hirokazu Kore-eda. Taking place in the smaller Dorfman Theatre, this looks set to be an excellent reintroduction to the nation’s favourite theatre. From 16 June a production of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood will open in the Olivier Theatre. ....
